At 09:26 on 27 August, the first steel column of Boiler No. 1 for the Gansu Juhua Project—EPC-led by China United New Energy Engineering Design Institute—was successfully lifted into place, officially kicking off the boiler erection phase.

To guarantee a safe and efficient lift, the project team prepared a detailed rigging plan, secured expert approval, aligned manpower and resources, and carried out comprehensive technical and safety briefings. Every safeguard was in place, allowing the operation to finish without incident.

The first-column lift is the project’s initial milestone, signalling the transition from pure civil-work to parallel civil-and-erection activities. The team will use this achievement as a springboard for tighter coordination, meticulous scheduling and rigorous execution, laying a solid foundation for on-time startup and power generation.

Project snapshot
The complex comprises two 410 t/h ultra-high-pressure CFB coal-fired boilers, one 100 t/h low-pressure gas-fired boiler and two B60 back-pressure steam-turbine sets with all auxiliaries. Coupling ultra-high-pressure parameters with back-pressure machines maximises step-wise energy use. A gas-peaking safeguard system, operating in coal-gas synergy, secures stable energy supply for chemical processes and underpins the national advanced-materials industrial base under construction.
